About Joy

Since I was a young girl, I’ve always had a passion for sports and pushing myself beyond my limits.

I care about community, challenging cultural norms, educating, and supporting others. As a professional, I am passionate about serving educational programs for underrepresented youth. I am privileged to have the time and space for pickleball and the wonderful pickleball community.

Professionally, I have 15+ years work experience in Program Development and Nonprofit Partnerships, with expertise in long-term community building. I have lead multiple culturally responsive programs across organizations, businesses and school districts. I am highly motivated and experienced at managing programs that advocate for youth and families. As a leader, I am committed to supporting equitable access to athletics, dismantling systems of oppression and promoting racial equity.

Personally

I am values driven in everything I do. I set goals to better myself and bet on myself on and off the court. I love having fun with my community and family. Removing obstacles and supporting inclusive communities, gives me energy. I am in my zone when I’m creating connections, building community and strong relationships. As an active leader I enjoy playing and coaching pickleball to all people of all ages. I keep my eye on the bigger picture whether I am teaching pickleball, fundraising or being a project leader. It’s all about bringing people together to have a good time and enjoy life. I love learning new ways to grow and challenge myself. Let me know if you would like to connect on any projects, programs or opportunities.
